The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a rich finish. The design of the Players Series Chess set has been inspired by the Jaques of London design from the late 1890s, a period widely regarded by Chess collectors as having the finest Staunton Chess Sets ever produced. Crafted in Spain, the House of Staunton Standard Traditional Black Erable / Maple Wooden Chessboard - Gloss Finish features Black Erable (dark) and Maple (light) squares with a Black Erable frame. This veneered Chessboard is 0.5" thick and has a gloss finish.
THE CHESSBOX
The Premium Chess Box is lined in green billiard cloth, divided and features brass quadrant hinges and a lock & key. The Premium Chess Box comes with the House of Staunton logo laser etched on the lid of the box.
